Atascadero Christian Community Celebrates their 60th Anniversary

On Saturday, June 2nd, Atascadero Christian Community reached a milestone – their 60th Anniversary! The diamond jubilee celebration was filled with residents, their families, community leaders, and members who enjoyed a delicious gourmet lunch prepared by the ACC kitchen staff. The Mudskippers provided live Dixieland music.

Among the many highlights of the afternoon included speeches by city leader Debbie Arnold, Executive Director Rocio Busby and CEO Dan Busby, Chaplain Chris Wohlwend, and Board Member President Bill Zeiders.

The celebration reached its peak when Debra Semonsen, Activities Director, drove in the new 24-passenger ACC bus. Residents will be traveling in comfort and style with this new bus that boasts power steering, leather seats, huge windows, and a power lift to make it accessible for all. The bus, partially made possible by resident fundraisers and support, was given a traditional champagne christening and toast.

Special thanks to Miranda Hill, Office Coordinator, who created a 60-year timeline display of ACC’s history in photos, and Dan and Rocio Busby for their continuous hard work and support in making ACC the special place it is for both residents and staff.
